Grant County is located in central Washington State with a population of 84,697 as of 2008. Grant County covers 11 cities, 5 of which are Grand Coulee, Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy and Royal City. Grand Coulee is home of the largest electric power-producing facility in the United States a hydroelectric gravity dam on the Columbia River. Along with the Grand Coulee Dam, Grant County also uses both Priest Rapids Dam and Wanapum Dam facilities to generate clean and renewable energy.
Grant County Public Utility District was formed 1938 by the residents who own and govern the facility to this day. The goal of Grant County PUD is providing electricity to residents, businesses and public works of the Northwest. The Grant County PUD distributes power through long term contracts with 22 regional utilities in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Grant County PUD continues to provide millions across the northwest with power.
